I had to have surgery last year and the doctor who was supposed to do the surgery got called to a hospital emergency, and they assigned Dr. Khalifeh to me. I wasn't worried at all. I had done my research on the doctors beforehand and I knew Dr. Khalifeh was so qualified. When she spoke with me before the surgery, she was so kind, calm, told me the plan and what would happen. She put me at ease with her confidence and patience. I then saw her for follow ups after the surgery. She was consistently extremely kind, patient, a good listener, answered my questions, and calmed my concerns. I had to possibly have a 2nd surgery, but Dr. Khalifeh never pushed it on me. She gave me alternative options to try first, which ended up working - I am all healed now! She always said she would follow my lead on what I wanted to do and what I felt comfortable with. I have met so many doctors who push you to do surgery again or go to the extreme. Dr. Khalifeh never did that. She always made me feel seen, heard, understood, and that my opinion mattered. I very, very highly recommend her. She is the absolute best of the best. Dr. Khalifeh is a doctor that feels like family. When you see her, you know you will be just fine because she is extremely talented in her surgical and interpersonal skills. She is one of a kind and she helped me immensely. Having her as my doctor was the best experience ever.

Dr. Colvin Help me out with my Pain Issue on my hemorrhoids. But I went back and Saw Dr. Rebehak Kim who saw that I need Surgery. I was diagnose when I retired from the Military with hemorrhoids but never did anything about them. But going through a life change experience. The stress really inflame them. I was in so much pain. I called the Fairfax office and they gave me an appointment that afternoon. Dr. Rebehak Kim told me I need Surgery to have the hemorrhoids removed. Had Surgery on 14 Nov 2024. Everything went fine it lasted 20 minutes. Did my follow up with Dr. Rebehak Kim on 16 Dec 2024. So look at me and said everything is good to go. I told Dr. Kim she gave me the greatest Christmas present this year taking about the pain I had. I told Dr. Kim she is the best. God bless her. She is top notch Doctor. I will recommend Her and this office to anybody I know has problems. Please recognize Dr. Rebekah Kim for her Superior job she did on me. It took a whole lot of pressure off of me. I would give zero stars but you are required to give at least one star. This is an updated review of my experience with Dr. Kimberly Matzie at Fairfax Colon & Rectal Surgery which has been deeply troubling and life-altering. In August 2020, Dr. Matzie performed a robotic surgery to correct a rectal prolapse using mesh. Unfortunately, this procedure has resulted in four years of excruciating pain, three additional surgeries at renowned institutions, including the Cleveland Clinic and medical facilities in Atlanta and Zurich, Switzerland, and nearly $90,000 in out-of-pocket expenses. Despite these efforts, I have found no relief. From the beginning, her approach to my care was marred by negligence and dismissiveness. During my only post-op visit with Dr. Matzie, I expressed concerns about severe post-surgical pain. I cannot state the exact words she used, as they will not post that in a review, but essentially her response was unprofessional, saying, ‘I hate to be harsh, but you need to just suck it up.’ This lack of empathy and support made an already difficult recovery process even more challenging. The complications stemming from the initial surgery have significantly impacted my quality of life, and I now face the probability of undergoing another major surgery (highly recommended by Cleveland Clinic) to remove my large intestine and live with a colostomy bag. This is a devastating prospect. Something that should have never happened. While I acknowledge that medical outcomes can vary, I feel compelled to share my story as a cautionary tale for others considering similar procedures. I strongly urge anyone seeking care for colorectal issues to thoroughly research and seek second or even third opinions before proceeding with treatment. And I would definitely stay away from Fairfax Colon & Rectal Surgery!

Dear Doctor Plerhoples. Approximately 2 1/2 years ago I was diagnosed with colon cancer . I was blessed to have Doctor Plerhoples as my surgeon. I was also diagnosed with severe Crohn’s disease . I was severely inflamed making surgery almost impossible. Several doctors including my oncologist, and gastro doctors suggested that surgery while I was inflamed was risky . Dr.Plerhoples said it was imperative he perform the surgery immediately and remove the cancer mass. He knew the operation needed performed to remove the cancer mass from my body immediately. He was super confident, experienced, and a amazing surgeon. I was blessed to have him perform a successful surgery . Very considerate of comfort level and was compassionate towards the need for distraction from the procedure. After the procedure, Dr Colvin thoroughly explained post op home care, answered any questions, was very personable and even took the time to have a conversation about a common interest. I never felt rushed or uncomfortable. One of the best experiences I have had with any medical providers since my primary doctor, Michael Royfe retired.

The doctor Cheng used the numbing solution for the procedure which allowed me to relax . After the procedure, i had a pretty active and a busy afternoon activites. In the past, just thinking about the procedure, made me feel unpleasant and uncomfortable and I had to lay low for a few days after the procedure is done. I felt, the waiting time at the office was minimum and efficient. Again, I was very satisified this time. In the past, I never did the follow up appointment, I tried to forget this ongoing periodic procedure I will need to get it done. But, since I was impressed by Dr. Chang's approach and encouraged me, I actually made a follow up appointment the procedure.

I decided to go back to Dr Kim because of my experience in treating my hemorrhoids in 2020. She takes the time to listen and talk to her patients. She even anticipated the hemorrhoid bandage procedure while I was there for just a visit. I will highly recommend her to all my family and friends.

Office and Dr. Plerhoples were excellent Getting to the office in Leesburg was not so much. 1) Finding a parking spot in the hospital's parking lot is always a nightmare. 2) Walking from building to building via an outside courtyard, not a good idea. I would not go back to the Leesburg office.

Dr. Colvin took the time to explain my condition as well as the many potential outcomes. He even took time to review everything when my mother attended a follow up session with me. This put us both at ease.

Dr. Kim is a wonder physician and person! She is a gifted and skilled doctor with a caring, kind, and pleasant manner. I could not have asked for a better surgeon to address my case. I was lucky that she made herself available to address my emergency medical needs with in-patient follow up for several weeks and out-patient for several months. We are lucky to have her.

The experience was excellent I would certainly recommend

I was able to get an appointment in an acceptable amount of time for my condition, and I was seen within a few minutes of arrival after filling out a bit of paperwork (it probably helped that I filled out the medical history questionnaire on the patient portal ahead of time). Elizabeth York was both efficient and pleasant, and she calmly described everything she was doing and seeing during the exam so I understood what was going on and could relax more than I otherwise would. Afterward, she described my condition and treatment options in ways I could easily understand, and I was able to have all of my questions answered without feeling rushed. As a PA, she's limited in the type of in-office procedures she can do - if after conservative treatment I still need help, I'll need to consult with one of the surgeons - but I would definitely see her again for initial consults and uncomplicated procedures. My only minor complaint would be that I felt a bit rushed by the assistant, which seemed odd as I was the only patient there the entire time (my husband was in the wait room and said no one else showed up). Otherwise, everything went as well as or better than could be expected for the type of visit it was. Thank you!

I was just concerned if the Dr laughing and assistant was about me when I was on my stomach on the table having the procedure done. And I thought he might have been a little rough but after many many times doing his job that may be hard to stop/ eliminate. But his quality was good as it seemed the procedure turned out well.

Questions answered very informative

When making the appointment, I was asked if I wanted it with a male or female doctor. Good question and glad it was asked. It gave an opportunity to align my own sensitivities to the reason for my visit and I chose a male doctor. However, the benefit of the question and selection was of no effect when the assistant in the room during the exam was female.

NP Lynn was very gentle in removing the disfunction at the site. NP Lynn gave us the right medication which we can apply more than once a day, and is not harmful like the medication given by other doctors. Dr. Tillou did an excellent job with my surgery. He explained the benefits vs the risks and listened to my concerns. I was very hesitant to have major surgery, but it turned out that the surgery ended up correcting more than one issue. I would highly recommend Dr. Tillou to anyone who needs surgery.
