Catherine Holder is a mother of 3 young children, a military spouse, and a lover of the outdoors.
Catherine attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI, for her physician assistant training. Upon graduating with her Master’s degree, she returned to her home state of Alaska and began her Colon and Rectal Surgery career. During her first year of practice, she met the love of her life, Dan, an Air Force pilot. They were married and later reassigned to Washington state, where she continued to practice as a surgical PA. After the birth of her second child, they received orders to move to Illinois. At that point, she chose to be a full-time stay-at-home parent. They welcomed their third child a week before being reassigned to Northern Virginia. Her family is thoroughly enjoying the National Capital Region and is incredibly thankful to have the opportunity to live in such a historic location. Catherine has been with Fairfax Colon and Rectal surgery since September of 2021 and is grateful to have the opportunity to return to the workforce once again.
Life is busy, and issues surrounding the colon, rectum, and anus can be challenging to discuss. Catherine’s goal is to help her patients feel at peace, empowered, and prepared to tackle their medical/surgical concerns.
