Surgical Scheduling and Insurance Verification

PLEASE ALLOW OUR STAFF AT LEAST ONE WEEK TO COMPLETE THE SCHEDULING PROCESS AND CONTACT YOU WITH CONFIRMATION.

After speaking with your surgeon and it is determined you need to have a procedure or surgery, our team of highly trained staff will begin to make preparations for you. You will either see the scheduler right after your office appointment with your doctor or you will be contacted by phone in 24 hours to begin the scheduling process. At this time you will be asked to discuss your scheduling preferences with the scheduling staff. Keep in mind, changes are made to the surgery calendar daily, and the staff will do their best to accommodate your needs. Although we try to meet your needs, physician and facility availability influence scheduling and could result in a delay. If your procedure is of an urgent nature, every effort is made to expedite the process.

For each procedure/surgery Fairfax Colon & Rectal schedules we must verify insurance benefits. The staff handles pre-certifying your surgery and confirms your insurance benefits, eligibility, and deductible and co-pay status. Insurance verification may take up to 24 hours.

If your surgery is to be done at a hospital or facility other than Fairfax Colon & Rectal Surgical Center, we must coordinate with their Operating Room schedule. Sometimes this leads to delays in confirming your scheduled time. The process can take up to a week to confirm date, time, available assistants and staff.
